RC women take 6th in Hobbs

The Ranger College women's track team finished sixth in the final standings at the NMJC Invite in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Competing with just five runners, the RC women finished the 5-kilometer race with 121 points. New Mexico Junior College edged out Lubbock Christian for the top spot in the team standings.

Madison Rowland, Alauna Stackhouse and Jenesis Castillo all raced their way to top 20 marks in the event. Rowland finished just outside the top 10, at No. 11, with a time of 21 minutes, 10.34 seconds. Stackhouse and Castillo took 17th and 19th, respectively, with times of 21:46.52 and 21"49.57.

Cameryn Boykin and Sylvia Kopkeoch also did well. Boykin was 29th at 22:46.73, while Kopkeoch was 52nd at 28:10.13.

The Lady Rangers will return to action on Oct. 2 when they compete in the Chile Pepper Invitational in Magnolia, Arkansas.
