Garcia wins NTJCAC honors

Jasmin Garcia became the third RC standout in as many weeks to earn NYJCAC Player of the Week Honors. The sophomore sensation was tabbed the conference's defensive player of the week for Sept. 5-11 after helping the Lady Rangers reach the 10-win plateau.

A 6-foot sophomore from Brownsville, Garcia recorded 10 block assists and 2 blocks solo during eight sets played last week. She also registered 26 kills on 52 attacks.

North Central Texas College outside hitter Aliyah Levert was the NTJCAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Garcia follows fellow RC stars Gloria Geurin and Sakura Thomas as NTJCAC Player of the Week recipients.
