RANGER, Texas — Ranger College Women's Basketball secured a 60-56 win in a back-and-forth conference game against the Rebels on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. The Rangers dominated the first quarter, leading 21-9. The Rebels closed the gap in the second quarter, outscoring Ranger 19-10, but the Rangers held a 31-28 lead at halftime.
The second half remained tight, with the Rangers edging the Rebels 15-13 in the third quarter. The Rebels won the fourth quarter, 15-14, but the Rangers held on for the win.
Mariah Houston led the Rangers with 18 points and 7 assists. Alani Owens contributed 13 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Aisha Marten added 10 points. Saylor Upshaw led the team with 13 rebounds, including 12 defensive boards.
The Rangers will face Temple College in Temple, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025. With the victory, the Rangers improve to 2-6 in conference play and 4-15 overall.
