Mathews gains NTJCAC honors

It hasn't ytaken Bre'Asiajah Mathews long to make her presence felt in the Region V circles. The Ranger College standout was one of players honored as Region V's women's basketball Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 27 – Nov. 2. Mathews selection was announced last week on the Region V website.

En route to being named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Player of the Week, the 6-foot sophomore forward from Garland, had 35 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win over Mountain View College. She was 14 of 18 from the field and 5 of 6 from 3-point range.

Alexys Grice of Frank Phillips College was tabbed the Western Junior College Athletic Conference's Player of the Week.

The 5-9 freshman guard from College Station averaged 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She also added 5 assists in 5 steals in two games.
