The Ranger College Softball team sweeps Clarendon College on the road

RANGER – The Ranger College Softball team sweeps Clarendon College on the road.

In the first of the series, Ranger College came out on top with a convincing 10-1 victory. Ranger dominated the game both offensively and defensively, with strong performances from multiple players.

Ranger got on the board early and continued to build their lead throughout the game. Marlie Strong had a standout performance, hitting a double and a triple, while also driving in a run. Jenna Cox also had a big game, hitting a double and a home run, while driving in two runs. Alayna Parram, Alyssa Vicenty, Malarie Mican, and Arianna Meza all contributed with RBIs as well.

On the defensive side, Alyssa Meza had a stellar performance on the mound for Ranger College, pitching a complete game and only allowing one run on four hits. She also struck out six batters in the game.

In game two, Ranger again came out on top with a dominating 17-2 victory. Ranger displayed an impressive offensive performance, scoring 7 runs in the first inning and continuing to add to their lead throughout the game.

Key players for Ranger for this game included Alayna Parram, Alyssa Vicenty, and Alyssa Meza, who all contributed multiple hits and RBIs to the team's total. Pitcher Jada Moreno had a strong outing, allowing only 2 runs over 3 innings to earn the win.

On the other side, Clarendon College struggled to get their offense going, managing only 4 hits and 2 runs in the game. Pitcher C. Frost took the loss after giving up 17 runs, 10 of which were earned, over 5 innings.

In a high-scoring game three between the two teams, Ranger came out with guns blazing, concluding with a final score of 20-6. Ranger had an impressive offensive performance, scoring runs in every inning and tallying a total of 19 hits. Alayna Parram, Alyssa Vicenty, and Jenna Cox were key contributors at the plate, each recording multiple hits and RBIs.

On the pitching side, Jada Moreno earned the win, pitching 5 innings and striking out 6 batters. Clarendon struggled to contain Ranger offense, with their pitcher C. Frost giving up 20 runs on 19 hits in 5 innings.

Despite the loss, Clarendon College had some bright spots in their offense, with A. Alaniz, A. Manzanare, and A. Letkemann each driving in multiple runs.

In game four, R anger completed the sweep of the series in a high-scoring game with a final score of 20-10. Ranger College had an impressive offensive performance, scoring 20 runs on 26 hits. Sarah Gonzalez was a standout player for Ranger College, going 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs.

Clarendon College put up a fight with 10 runs on 14 hits, but ultimately fell short. A. Letkemann had a strong performance for Clarendon College with 3 RBIs.

Pitching-wise, Alyssa Meza started for Ranger, and was assisted by Sarah Gonzalez to secure the win. On the other side, P. Cabral pitched the entire game for Clarendon College but took the loss.

Ranger College goes back on the road on Wednesday, February 28, to face North Central College. First Pitch is scheduled for Noon and 2:00 p.m.
