Ranger College Softball lost the home series against Tyler Junior College

RANGER – Ranger College lost the home series against Tyler Junior College in games held on February 14, 2024. The final score was 14-1 and 14-2 in favor of Tyler Junior College.
Tyler Junior College got off to a strong start in game one, scoring 5 runs in the first inning. They continued to add to their lead with 1 run in the fifth inning and a whopping 8 runs in the seventh inning. They ended the game with a total of 14 runs on 15 hits.
Tyler Junior College's offense was firing on all cylinders. For Tyler Junior College, S. Ouellette pitched 6 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits, and striking out 6 batters. B. Ashcraft also pitched an inning, giving up 1 run on 2 hits.
Ranger College struggled to get their offense going, only managing 1 run on 7 hits. Marlie Strong drove in the lone run for Ranger College.
Jada Moreno started on the mound for Ranger College but had a tough outing, giving up 6 runs on 7 hits in 5 innings. Sarah Gonzalez came in relief and gave up 8 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings.
In the second game of the day, Tyler Junior College's batters displayed exceptional hitting skills, recording a total of 13 hits, including 2 doubles and 6 home runs.
On the other hand, Ranger College faced difficulties in containing Tyler Junior College's offensive firepower. Their pitchers, Alyssa Meza and Savanah Petersen, struggled to find their rhythm, allowing a total of 14 runs on 12 hits. Meza, who pitched for 3.2 innings, had a challenging outing, conceding 9 earned runs and 5 home runs. Despite their efforts, Ranger College's offense failed to match Tyler Junior College's performance, only managing 5 hits and 2 runs.
Ranger College Softball next plays 4 games in the Cisco Tournament being held in the Bert Massy Complex this Friday and Saturday.
