RC places 7th at High Country Shootout

The Ranger College golf team finished in seventh place at the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, New Mexico, on Sept. 27.

The Rangers shot a 284-289-284—857 total. Midland College won the team crown with a final mark of 796. New Mexico Junior College edged out Odessa College for second.

RC was led by sophomore Howon Kim, who finished tied for 20th in the individual standings with a 6-under par 210. Jarrod Johnson finished in a tie for 28th with a 3-under 213.

Grant Owen Ferreira also played well, finishing 34^th with a 1-under 215.

Also competing for Ranger were Luke Stock, Maxwell Martinez and Nathaniel Frink. Stock tied for 46^th, while Martinez and Frink tied for 50^th. Oriol Fort was 57^th.
