RC men net at-large bid to national tourney

The Ranger College men's golf team is headed to the Promised Land. Well, or at least, to Lubbock.

The Rangers, coming off a solid showing at the District 2 golf tournament, received an at-large bid to the upcoming NJCAA National Golf Championships from the tournament selection committee on Monday. Ranger will join Region V rivals McLennan and Western Texas in the national tournament field.

The Rangers, who finished in a tie for seventh in the final regular-season rankings by the NJCAA, staged a furious finish at the District 2 tournament and finished a close third in the team standings. RC completed the 36-hole meet one stroke behind Western Texas.

The 2021 Division I national tournament is scheduled for May 10-13 at The Rawls Course in Lubbock.
