Rangers bounce back with win over Collin

Following the team's loss to Grayson College, Ranger College head coach Billy Gillispie said his team would work on their defensive game when they took to the court for their next outing. And they did,

Ranger College used a stifling defensive effort to post an impressive 90-68 victory over Collin County Community College in Plano. The Rangers held the Cougars to a paltry 40 percent shooting from the field during the contest and rolled to its 22nd win in 24 outings.

Jorell Saterfield, Brayan Au and freshman phenom Keisei Tominaga all came up big for RC in the victory. Saterfield and Au both recorded double-doubles while Tominaga found his stroke from the outside, hitting six of the team's seven three-point shots.

After fighting to a 35-31 halftime lead, Ranger's defensive pressure began paying off in the second. The defense keyed a 55-37 spree in the final 20 minutes and paved the way for the Rangers to go to 7-1 in NTJCAC play.

Saterfield powered the RC offense by tossing in 28 points and 11 rebounds. Au contributed 12 points while dishing out 10 assists. The sophomore was just five rebounds shy of a triple-double.

Tominaga finished the contest with 23 points. C.J. Roberts added 16.

Ranger will face off against McLennan Community College on Thursday in Waco.
