Bio

Dalton Rodriguez is entering his 4 th season at Ranger College; in his second season he took over as hitting
coach and recruiting coordinator. In his first season as hitting coach the Rangers hit a school record .335
as a team. The team was top 3 in region 5 North in Runs, Hits, RBI’s, Stolen Bases, Walks, and Batting
Average. The offense was also top 50 in the country in Hits, top 40 in the country in Stolen Bases and
25th in the country in Batting Average. In 2022 he helped lead the Rangers to a 37-22 record, with a
school record in overall wins (37) and a school record in conference wins (20). RC finished third in the
conference standings – its best finish since the NTJCAC expanded to nine teams – and earned its first trip
to the regional tournament since the mid- 1980’s.


In his second season as hitting coach the Rangers set the school record again for team batting average
with .361 (3 rd in the country). The team was top 5 in region 5 North in Runs, 2 nd in hits, 4 th in RBI, 1 st in
stolen bases and 2 nd in the country, 1 st in batting average and 3 rd in the country, 1 st in On Base Percentage
and 8 th in the country, 2 nd in slugging percentage and 25 in the country. In 2023 he helped lead the
Rangers to a 31-23 record, the first back-to-back 30 win seasons in 50 years at Ranger.


Prior joining the Ranger staff, Dalton was the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Coastal Bend
College in Beeville, TX. His first season at Coastal Bend he helped lead the Cougars to their first
conference championship in school history and ranked top 10 in the country. His second year at Coastal
Bend, the Cougars started off 15-11 and were top 10 in the country in Runs, Hits, Doubles, Home Runs,
RBI’s, and Walks before being shut down due to Covid. The next year his recruiting class went to the
NJCAA D3 World Series finishing 5 th .


Dalton Rodriguez is from Bay City, Tx. Rodriguez was a 4-year first team All-District catcher for Sweeny
High School. Earning Newcomer of the Year his freshman year, District MVP and first team All-State his
Senior year. During his high school career, he played in the Greater Houston Area Baseball Coaches
Association All-Star game as a Junior and the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star
game his Senior year. At the end of his Senior year, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the
2011 MLB Draft.


Upon his high school graduation in 2011, Rodriguez attended McLennan Community College to continue
his education and baseball career. After playing at McLennan he transferred to Stephen F. Austin State
University then to the University of Houston-Victoria. Dalton graduated the University of Houston-
Victoria with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in education, and a minor in history.
Rodriguez also received his master’s degree in athletic administration from Tarleton State University in
2020.
