Bio

Alan Buonasera is beginning his 7th year as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Ranger College. He primarily helps with the development of the pitching staff, but is also involved in scouting and recruiting. 
Prior to joining the staff at Ranger, Alan was an independent pitching coach in the Dallas area. He has also coached in collegiate summer leagues and served as a bird dog for Area Scouts in North Texas. 
Coach Buonasera has West Texas roots. He played on a State Championship Team at Midland High School and was a two sport recruit his senior year. Buonasera landed at Bee County College (now Coastal Bend) where he was a 2 way player (CF & RHP) as a freshman before transferring to Texas A&M. At A&M Alan played on two SWC Championship Teams and was a member of one of the top three pitching staffs in school history. After graduating Alan had pro tryouts with the Montreal Expos and the California Angels, and was offered a contract to play professionally in Italy. 
Buonasera has three adult sons, two of which played college baseball. His youngest son was a NJCAA National Champion in 2019. Alan continues to grow the game when away from Ranger by training and advising aspiring young pitchers. Alan is a member of ABCA and has been inducted into the City of Midland Athletic HOF.
