Ranger College Baseball splits the first half of their series with Western Texas College

RANGER – In the first game of this series between Ranger College and Western Texas College, Western Texas came out on top with a final score of 8-7. The game took place on February 28, 2024, at Western Texas's home field in Snyder, TX.

Ranger College started strong with a five-run second inning, but Western Texas fought back with a four-run seventh inning to secure the win. Western Texas's pitcher, I. Herrera earned the win after pitching 3.1 innings and allowing only one run.

Both teams had strong offensive performances, with Western Texas's J. Caraway leading the way with two RBIs. Ranger College's Michael Torres-Idrogo had a standout game with two RBIs and a double.

Overall, it was a hard-fought game between two competitive teams. Western Texas's late-game rally proved to be the difference-maker, securing them the victory over Ranger.

In game two between Ranger and Western Texas, Ranger came out on top with a final score of 9-3. Ranger College had a strong offensive performance, scoring 2 runs in the first inning, followed by 5 runs in the third inning. They were able to secure the win with a total of 11 hits and 8 RBIs.

Key players for Ranger College included X. Sanchez, who had 3 hits and 3 RBIs, and Jackson Dillingham, who also had 2 RBIs. Pitcher Joseph Lee had a solid performance, pitching 5.2 innings with 10 strikeouts and only allowing 1 earned run.

On the other hand, Western Texas struggled to keep up with Ranger's offense, only managing to score 3 runs on 7 hits. Pitcher D. Collins took the loss after giving up 6 runs in 2.1 innings.

Overall, Ranger's strong hitting and pitching performance led them to victory over Western Texas.
