RANGER, Texas — September 26, 2025 — The No. 19 nationally ranked Ranger College women's soccer team continued its dominant start to the season with a 5–0 victory over Western Texas College on Friday afternoon. The win kept the Lady Rangers unbeaten, improving their record to 3-0 in conference play and 8-0-1 overall.
First-Half Control
Ranger struck quickly, taking a two-goal lead inside the opening 16 minutes. Nuria Alejo scored in just the 3rd minute off an assist from Naileth Rangel. Moments later, Alba Mendez Garcia added the second, again set up by Rangel, to give the Lady Rangers a commanding early advantage.
Second-Half Surge
The Lady Rangers pulled away after halftime, scoring three more times in a 13-minute span. Alejo struck again in the 52nd minute, this time assisted by Mia Gregory. Gregory then netted a goal of her own six minutes later, set up by Rangel, who notched her third assist of the day. Mendez Garcia capped the scoring in the 65th minute with her second goal, once again assisted by Rangel.
Defensive Stand
The back line and goalkeepers combined for the team's latest shutout. Penelope Charrion made three saves in 60 minutes of action, while Sara Mendivelso added one save in relief to keep Western Texas off the board.
Looking Ahead
With the victory, Ranger College improves to 8-0-1 overall, 3-0 in conference play, and maintains its national ranking. The Lady Rangers will aim to extend their unbeaten streak on Thursday October 2, as they continue their conference campaign against Hill College in an away game.
