Ranger Women Upset SWCC 79-52

RANGER, Texas — The Ranger College women's basketball team defeated Southwestern Christian College, 79-52, on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025. The Rangers dominated the first half, outscoring the Rams 21-12 in the first quarter and 20-4 in the second to take a 41-16 lead at halftime. Southwestern Christian improved in the second half, matching Ranger's 17 points in the third quarter, but was outscored 21-19 in the fourth, with the first-half deficit proving too much to overcome.

Saylor Upshaw led Ranger with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Aisha Martin added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. Mariah Houston contributed 9 points, 5 assists, 6 steals, and 2 rebounds.

The win improves the Rangers' record to 4-9 in conference play and 7-18 overall. They will next face Grayson College on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Denison, Texas.
