Bio

Zack VerHulst is in his first year as the Head Coach of the Ranger College Men's Basketball Team in the 2023-24 season. 

 

VerHulst was an assistant coach at Ranger College in the 2022-23 season, where the Rangers (27-8, 12-2) won the NTJCAC conference championship, went to the Region 5 Championship game, and made a NJCAA Sweet 16 appearance. The 2022-23 Rangers signed 5 players to Division 1 basketball programs including Mykell Robinson (Fresno State), Tayton Conerway (Troy), Darius Duffy (Milwaukee), Shay Davis (Western Illinois), and BJ Comer (Cal State Northridge). Derrick Daniels (UNC Pembroke D2), Noah Hutchins (D'Youville D2), and Tyler Poindexter (Keiser NAIA) also signed full ride scholarships. In addition, Tayton Conerway won Region 5 and NTJCAC Player of the Year, Mykell Robinson was named to the Region 5 1st Team, BJ Comer was named NTJCAC Defensive Player of the Year, and 4 members were named to All-NTJCAC Teams (Mykell Robinson 1st Team, Tayton Conerway 1st Team, Shay Davis 1st Team, and Derrick Daniels 2nd Team). 

 

VerHulst spent the 2021-22 basketball season as an assistant coach at Chipola College. The 2021-22 Chipola team won the Panhandle conference and advanced to the NJCAA Final 4. While at Chipola, VerHulst specializes in video, operations, scouting reports, and player development. 6 players from the 2021-22 Chipola team signed Division 1 including Nae'Qwan Tomlin (Kansas State), Faizon Fields (Old Dominion), Carlos Lemus (UTEP), Achor Achor (Samford), Kris Gardner (Southern), and Amadou "Shaq" Traore (Chicago State). 

 

VerHulst completed 3 years as a graduate assistant for the Eastern Michigan men's basketball team. He was on the Eagles’ staff from 2018-2021 primarily focused on video and analytics. 

 

The Grandville, Michigan native is a 2015 graduate of the University of Memphis with a degree in business accounting. He received his Master's degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2021 with a Sports Management degree.
