Rangers power their way past Hill

The Ranger College men's basketball team continued its impressive start to Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play on Saturday. Ranger put four players into double figures and cruised to an easy 74-51 road win over Hill College.

With the win, Ranger maintained its stranglehold on the conference lead by improving to 4-0. Hill slipped to 1-3.

The Rangers, now 19-1 overall and ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, bolted to a quick lead against the Rebels. RC rode the inside attack of Shakur Daniels and the perimeter shooting of Brayan Au and Keisei Tominaga to a comfortable 17-point lead,, at 39-22, in the first half. Au and Tominaga combined to hit on nine of their 15 shots in the contest, including three three-point shots by Tominaga.

Ranger put the game away with a 35-29 run in the final 20 minutes of play.

In all, 10 RC players penciled their names into the scorebook. Daniel led the way for Ranger with 13 points. Montre Gipson added 12, while Tominaga and C,J. Robert added 11 and 10, respectively. Au and Jorell Saterfield contributed nine and seven.

Kenton Eskridge, Cadarius Baggett, Shasirae Harvey and Heritier Ngalamulume also tallied points for RC.

Ranger will host Weatherford on Jan. 20m starting at 7 p.m.
