Rangers draw South Plains in return to regional play

After a year hiatus from the regional tournament, the Ranger men are back. Following a wild finish to the regular season that saw teams jockeying for positioning until the final night, RC finished in third place in the north and will take on the second place team from the west, South Plains College Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. There was a late change of venue, the tournament will no longer be taking place at Lubbock Christian College, but instead at Fresnship High School just outside of Lubbock in Wolfforth.

The two team did not play during the regular season, however, they did have a preseason scrimmage so they are not completely unfamiliar with each other. They played four common opponents with similar results. Combined they went 6-0 against Midland College and Western Texas College with SPC accounting for four of those wins. Angelina College had each team's number the Roadrunners beat the Rangers twice and did so to the Texans, once. The only difference in common opponents came with Collin County. The Cougars who finished second in the north lost to SPC, 100-79, and won both meetings with the Rangers.
