Trio of Rangers lead RC big win over Weatherford
WEATHERFORD -- Hanging on to just a one-point halftime lead over Weatherford, Ranger needed a big second half to pick up a win and keep pace in the postseason race. They got just that, after scoring just 38 points in the opening 20 minutes, RC hung a double nickel on the Coyotes over the final 20, cruising to a 93-81 win.
Three Rangers scored over 20 points led by Akiem Daschner who totaled 27. Devonte Patterson finished with 25 and Caleb Smith added 23.
POSTSEASON POSITIONING
The win kept Ranger in a three-way tie for third place with Temple and Hill. The Leopards finish the season Wednesday when they host McLennan and the Rebels take on Collin County who is tied with the Highlanders atop the conference. At 6-5, the three teams all split their regular season meetings.
SCHEDULE SAYS
A huge advantage the Rangers have is they close out the season Monday against Southwest Christian. The Rams have yet to win a conference game.
