Ranger College Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Earn Historic National Preseason Rankings

For Immediate Release
August 27, 2025

Ranger, Texas – For the first time in school history, both the men's and women's cross country programs at Ranger College will enter the season nationally ranked in the NJCAA preseason polls. The men's team earned the No. 9 spot in the country, while the women's team made history with a No. 6 national ranking to open the 2025 season.

Head Coach James Majenge expressed pride in the milestone but emphasized the work still ahead.

"I believe we have a lot of talent and it's exciting to see each and every athlete fighting for a spot on the team," Majenge said. "The job is not done yet. As we continue to build, I hope we stay healthy and don't lose focus on what matters the most – conference and Nationals."

The national recognition reflects the continued growth of Ranger College's cross country program, which has built depth and competitiveness on both sides in recent years. The rankings put the Rangers in position to compete among the best programs in the NJCAA this fall.

The Rangers will open their season on September 5 at the Gerald Richey Invitational, hosted by The University of Texas at Arlington.
