Sweetwater Organizations Donate $27,500 to Ranger College for National Intercollegiate Rodeo

Sweetwater, TX — The Chamber of Commerce, Sweetwater and Nolan County, and the Nolan County Coliseum proudly presented a $27,500 donation to Ranger College in support of the recent National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) event held at the Coliseum.

The event drew widespread attention, bringing together 17 colleges and over 800 student-athletes from across the region to compete in various rodeo events. Hosted in Sweetwater, the rodeo showcased the vibrant spirit of collegiate competition and the enduring legacy of Western sports in Nolan County.

"We're thrilled to highlight Ranger College and the NIRA in bringing such a dynamic and high-level event to the Sweetwater community," said Scott Norwood, Athletic Director of Ranger College. "This partnership not only strengthens our local economy but also highlights Sweetwater as a premier destination for collegiate rodeo."

The donation reflects the community's strong commitment to education, youth development, and the preservation of rodeo tradition. Proceeds will help support Ranger College's rodeo program and ensure future participation in NIRA events.
