Bio

Prior to Ranger College, Sean Coleman coached as the varsity head assistant at Port Arthur
Memorial (5A) in Port Arthur, Texas. In 2022-2023 season, Coach Coleman helped the Titans finished 30-
9 (13-1) record which was the 2nd

most wins in school history. The Titans went on to win the 17-5A
District Championship, Bi-District and Area Championships, Regional-Semifinalist and final ranking of
#16 in Texas. Coach Coleman also spent time working at high schools in the Dallas and Austin areas to
begin his coaching career.
Before beginning his coaching career, Coleman played professional basketball in Japan and Mexico. He
played forward for the Iwate Big Bulls (Japan-BJ-League) and for the Ciudad Victoria Correcaminos
(Mexico-LNBP). Due to injuries, his career was cut short after 3 years of playing professional.
Coleman played collegiate basketball at University of Tulsa, Blinn College, and finished his college
basketball career at the University of Houston. He was apart of the 2010 C-USA Tournament Champions
and started for Houston in the 2010 NCAA March Madness tournament as the 13th

seed vs Maryland.
Coleman also made the 2009 C-USA All-Academic team while playing forward for the Cougars. He
graduated with a major in Sociology in the spring of 2010.
Sean Coleman was born in Port Arthur, Texas and later moved to the Houston area. He played high school
basketball for one of the top programs in the nation (Westbury Christian), under Coach Greg Glenn. He
was a McDonald All-American nominee his senior year while also leading the Wildcats to their 3rd

consecutive TAPPS-4A state title. Coleman was honored as the Jaycees tournament MVP, 1st Team All-
State team, and MVP of the TAPPS All-Star game. He was one of five senior teammates to sign to a

Division 1 school in the 2005.
