Bio

Nicole Smith is in her fifth season as the head volleyball coach at Ranger College. A former collegiate standout, Smith has turned the Lady Rangers into one of the top teams in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference. Under her tutelage, RC has won more than 50 games and advanced to the conference tournament in three of the past four seasons. In 2019, Ranger posted a school-record 23 victories and earned their coach her second straight NTJCAC Coach of the Year award. Prior to taking over the RC program, Smith helped found the University of Arkansas-Monticello program in 2005. She served as the team’s head coach until 2011 before leaving to coach club volleyball in Houston. Prior to coaching at Aransas-Monticello, she spent six seasons as the head coach at Blinn College and two years as the head coach at Hill College. Collegiately, the Baytown (Texas) High School graduate played at Lee College in Baytown before signing with Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina. During her career, Smith has coached numerous All-Americans and Academic All-Americans.
