NCTC rallies past Lady Rangers

The North Central Texas College Lady Lions rallied to claim a tough win over the Ranger College Lady Rangers on Monday in a key NTJCAC showdown. The Lady Lions won the final three games to emerge with a 3-1 decision.
With the loss, Ranger fell to 2-5 for the season and, more importantly, slipped to 1-4 in conference play.
Despite the loss, Ranger proved it could play with the upper echelon of the NTJCAC. The Lady Rangers battled its way to a 26-24 victory in the first game of the best-of-five series. NCTC answered back to win the next three games 25-15, 25-19 and 25-22.
Kaycie Shannon and Katy Davis both turned outstanding efforts for Ranger, as did sophomore Jordan Brown. Shannon finished with 15 kills, while Davis recorded 12 kills and 11 digs. Brown had 10 kills and a blocked shot.
Sakura Thomas and Jordan Mahan also played well. Thomas had 24 digs. Mahan had a team-leading 44 assists to go with 16 digs.
Ranger will host Victoria on March 12.
