RC women upend Cisco

The Ranger College women's volleyball team pulled themselves back into the postseason picture last Thursday with a rousing 3-1 victory over the Cisco College Lady Wranglers. Ranger moved into a tie with Cisco for fourth place in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference standings with a 25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20 victory in Cisco.

With the victory, the Lady Rangers also moved above .500 for the season by improving to 11-10. They are now 2-3 in NTJCAC action.

En route to picking up the team's third win on the road, the Lady Rangers benefitted from stellar performances from freshmen Kaylee Criswell, Jordan Brown and Kaycie Shannon. The three combined for 26 kills.

Criswell led the team with 12 kills in the decision. Brown and Shannon added nine and seven, respectively.

Fellow freshman Kennedy Smith also played well for RC. She finished the contest with seven kills, one less that Macey Jordon, who also contributed 14 digs.

Sophomores Taylor Brann, Camryn Bevins and Reanna Miller turned in stellar outings on both sides of the net. Brann posted a team-high 40 assists while contributing 22 digs. Bevins had 20 digs, while Miller chalked up 28 digs and three assists.

Freshman setter Jordan Mahan reached double figures with 16 digs.

The Lady Rangers will return to play on Sept. 30 when they host Temple College.
