Jessica Thomas-Billott capped her freshman season with a sensational performance at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. The Ranger College standout legged out a top 25 performance in her first appearance in the national meet, which was held May 16-18 at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs.

Thomas-Billott powered her way to 24th in the final standings in the women's 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:18.60.

Graham noted Thomas-Billott's efforts highlighted a record-setting season for the Lady Rangers. As a team, the RC squad shattered five of the school's nine track and field records.

Thomas-Billott played a huge role in breaking four of the records. During her first year at RC, she set the school's all-time mark in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000-meter races. She also teamed with Marissa Gonzalez, Alexandra Luna and Yenifer Martinez to set the all-time mark in the 4x400-meter relay.

Martinez set the college's all-time mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
