Maledon and Jones lead Rangers to easy win over Western Oklahoma
In their final game of 2017, the Ranger women came out on fire against the visitors from Western Oklahoma State College as they jumped out to a 9-2 lead on a Lena Maledon 3-pointer with less than four minutes gone by in the game. Ranger kept pushing into the second quarter when Maledon again knocked down another deep ball to give the Ranger a 20-6 lead. RC never gave the Pioneers a chance as they won by 27, 52-25.
Maledon led Ranger with 15.
Ny'Keria Jones added 14.
Ranger has been locking down on the defensive side of the ball lately. In its last three wins, all by double figures, RC has allowed just a total of 50 points in 60 minutes.
Now with a 9-4 record, Ranger won't play again until Jan. 2 when they start play in the McLennan Shootout against Paris Junior College. Current Ranger head coach Bill Foy won a national championship as the men's coach at Paris prior to his time at Ranger.
