Cammer ascends to head coach

RANGER – Following her first year on staff, Sara Cammer was promoted this offseason to head coach following the departure of Megan Low.

"I am excited about the opportunity to reestablish the tradition of Ranger College Softball," Cammer said. "I love the hometown feel of the school and I am happy to be a part of this great community."

As the starting shortstop Cammer helped lead Boerne High School to the 4A UIL State Title in 2007. Following her time as a Greyhound she went on to play at Houston Baptist University where she was a four-year starter. Cammer was named first team all-conference as a junior and also helped lead the Huskies to win the Great West Conference title as a senior.

After her playing career, Cammer went to the University of Texas Permian Basin as a graduate assistant. During her time on staff, the Falcons qualified for their first conference tournament.

Cammer has her eyes set on getting the Rangers back to the top of the conference.

"I'm confident in the returning sophomores being strong guides for the girls coming in. They all have the same drive to win and work hard. I'm excited to take my knowledge of the game and instill it into the program," Cammer said.
